Support

Tierra Software Development is the primary developer of EdWeb and provides a variety of options for support. With the move to open source, it is hoped that a community of EdWebbers will develop, and add to the people available to help, and support the setup and use of EdWeb.

Available options:

EdWeb forums
Ask and answer questions in the EdWeb Forums

Feedback
Not so much a form of support, but we watch the feedback input by users at the EdWeb Uservoice site to know which projects to place priority on.

Documentation
Documentation currently available is available in the Documentation section of this site.

Commercial Support
Currently available and included for organizations using EdWeb 2.0 in hosted mode - more information is available at www.edweb.us on having your EdWeb 2.0 setup hosted.

Live Support
Built into EdWeb is an option for EdWebbers to click on 'Live Support' to chat with a support person in real-time.

For organizations using EdWeb in hosted mode, live support is available at times, but those times are limited, at this point, to a couple hours per week.

For organizations using Open EdWeb, Live Support via Tierra Software Development is not available at this time. But the EdWeb administrator can enable this piece to point to an internal live support option if available.

Tierra Software Development uses the Live Support application from http://cutesoft.net/live-support/, but it's likely another live support option could be tied in if you have one currently in use.

If you are interested in providing live support to the EdWeb community in general, we will gladly send you the Live Support Operator client, and set you up with an operator login to provide live support for teachers and staff using Open EdWeb.

The official release of Open EdWeb has changed...
I got an urgent request to include a district-level 'Board Policies & Admin Regs' function into EdWeb in the next 2 or 3 weeks, and that's an important aspect for EdWeb going forward, so I pushed forward the release date to 09/07/2010 so that I can include the basic infrastucture pieces in the initial release.

Open EdWeb RC2 has been posted in the downloads section, along with a small update immediately after. Scheduled release of Open EdWeb on 09/01/2010 still looking feasible.
